How Studies Are Vetted

The list is curated, not scraped

A study only appears here after it clears every one of these checks. The vetting is the point — it's what makes this more useful than a raw registry search.

  • Actively recruiting, a dated upcoming start, or currently underway (each clearly marked)
  • Registered (NCT number) or run by a known institution
  • Run by a legitimate university, VA, or sponsor
  • Veteran-relevant — or a PTSD/TBI trial open to all that veterans can join
  • Focused on PTSD, TBI, depression, substance use, or related conditions
  • Research only — never facilitation of obtaining any substance

New candidates are pulled weekly from ClinicalTrials.gov and reviewed against university and nonprofit sources by a person before they're published. Studies that don't clearly meet the bar wait in a review queue rather than going live automatically.

Read our full vetting standards & weekly process →

This directory is for education and navigation only. Psychedelic Vets is not affiliated with the studies listed and does not run them, endorse them, or collect any of your health information here. When you click through to a study, you're handed off entirely to that research team's own official page and its approved consent process. Nothing on this page is medical advice, and nothing here facilitates obtaining any controlled substance.

Organizations

Groups that connect veterans to psychedelic research

Beyond individual studies, these veteran-focused nonprofits run, fund, or route veterans into psychedelic-assisted research and care. They're independent of Psychedelic Vets — we link to their official pages so you can apply through their own process.
